PMB Series Net Weight Fillers

The PMB Series can Accurately fill a broad category of common products with fill weights from 2 oz. to 20 lbs. offering speeds from 1 to 60 fills per minute.

Common products are in the size range between jumbo ravioli and table salt granules.  A few examples include: pasta, shredded cheese, cat litter, croutons, coffee, candies, peanut brittle, IQF shrimp, IQF meatballs, plastic pieces, small hardware, gummie bears, fish food and granola.  Most products that are packaged into bags, cartons, trays, jars or other rigid containers, a Weigh Right system can fill it.

Can interface with an indexing conveyor, automatic bagger or activated by a foot switch.

Speeds:  On average, 10 fills per minute per lane.

NOTE:  Products and containers can vary greatly.  Check with a PSI representative to get specific speeds and accuracies for your application.

USDA or WDA designs available.

There's often more than one way to fill a particular product.  Let us evaluate your application and help you choose the solution that fits you best!

HOW THEY WORK
Product is loaded into the supply hopper either by hand, infeed conveyors, screw conveyors, or tote bags to name a few.  From the supply hopper, the product is "moved" by vibratory stainless steel trays into a weigh bucket.

A machine will either have one tray (for granular material or small piece products of same size, shape and weight) or three trays for product needing more separation to obtain accuracy.  The single tray system uses a bulk speed (fast) and a dribble speed (slow) to transfer product into the weigh bucket.

Once 98% of the target weight is reached with the bulk speed, the machine uses the dribble speed to get the last 2% in for high accuracy.  The three tray system (cascade, bulk and dribble trays) uses all three trays to reach 98% of the target weight at a bulk speed and finishes the last 2% using just the dribble tray at a slower speed.  Accuracy is ensured because the dribble tray is narrower allowing for only a small portion to be fed into the weigh bucket to reach target weight.

Once the target weight has been reached, the weigh bucket is activated to dump either by a foot switch, indexing conveyor or automatic bagger.

NOTE:  Each set of trays and weigh bucket equal one lane.  How fast you need to fill your product (units per minute) determine the number of lanes needed (up to 6 lanes available depending on your product type).
